Pumpkin Spice Basmati Rice Pudding (Kheer with a Fall Twist)
It is the season of the year! The leaves are changing gorgeous colors of orange, the air is clean, and everywhere you smell the spice of pumpkin. We just simply adore the calming flavors of autumn. However, to be frank enough, the number of pumpkin spice lattes that one can consume is limited! We wanted to put that nostalgic, home-cooked flavor in a classic, popular dessert. That is why we are so excited to tell you about our recipe for Pumpkin Spice Basmati Rice Pudding, a delicious, fall twist on classic Indian kheer!
Why Premium Quality Basmati Rice Is the Secret Ingredient.
When we set our mind on making what would be the best fall kheer, we realized that we needed to begin with the best ingredients. This is where Oscar Gold Basmati Rice comes from. Being a product of Kuber Agro, we had always been convinced of the high quality and the distinct flavor of the original basmati chawal. The long, slim grains of Oscar Basmati Rice also do not stick together but are tender, with the exception that the grain will retain its individual quality without getting mushy, thus providing the pudding with its beautiful creamy texture. The light and nutty smell of the rice is just the right complement to the warm spices of the season.
The Wizardry of Pumpkin Spice Kheer.
It is not a simple rice pudding recipe but a fall in a bowl. Some of the traditional liquid gets replaced with pumpkin puree, and the milk is enriched with a healthy dose of pumpkin pie spice: cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.
The result? A dessert that is rich, decadent, and extremely soothing. It is cozy, it is white, and it has the distinct and soul-soothing smell. Once you have a taste of this long grain Basmati rice pudding with a pumpkin twist, you will be addicted! It is the best snack on a cold night or a last-minute snack for a holiday dinner. And it is a great use of the pumpkin puree that you have left over after carving your jack-o’-lantern!
